Mission
The Emergency Medicine Ultrasound Fellowship at Mount Sinai Medical Center, Miami Beach is a 1-year program open to candidates who have successfully completed a 3 or 4 year Allopathic or Osteopathic Emergency Medicine Residency with board eligibility. Our mission is to train leaders to be experts in the field of Emergency Ultrasound.
A comprehensive curriculum will include the basics of emergency point-of-care ultrasound, systems and administrative responsibilities involved in leading an ultrasound division and advanced applications. Internal and external support and teaching from Cardiology, Anesthesiology, Radiology, Sports Medicine and Pediatrics will be integrated into the program. Advanced applications include:
Advanced Regional Anesthesia
Advanced Echocardiography and Transesophageal Echocardiography
Advanced Musculoskeletal Sonography
Elastography
Contrast Enhanced Ultrasound
Pediatric Sonography
Education involving formal didactics, literature review, online resources, hands-on scanning, and advanced SIM models will be part of the curriculum.
We provide plenty of lecture opportunities nationally and internationally. Recent international lectures include Buenos Aires, Argentina and Dubrovnik, Croatia. Once a year, we hold a growing annual MSMC Ultrasound Conference in which 150 participants, including 9 residency programs, attended in 2019. Teaching and educational opportunities will be available.
Responsibilities
Clinical duties include attending shifts at the main campus located in Miami Beach featuring a brand new state of the art emergency department and our two free standing ED’s in Aventura and Hialeah, which provide a diverse experience.
Fellow salary: 100k/ year plus benefits and CME

Scan shifts: 10 hours/week scan time which will involve scan time with the ultrasound faculty and opportunities to scan at our local children’s hospital for pediatric experience
